How to write copy for your biotech website

Many people underestimate at first the difficulty of writing good copy for their site. But for a lot of web development projects late delivery of copy is the main reason for project delays. This article is an inlead to an article series in which I will walk through the 10 most used page types on biotech websites (see our whitepaper on biotech web development). In each article I will explain why you would use a certain page type and give you ideas/templates that you can work from.

Who's interested in Pubmed for Drupal

We are working on the specification for a module that will be able to integrate content from PubMed, a service of the U.S. National Library of Medicine that includes over 18 million citations from MEDLINE and other life science journals for biomedical articles back to 1948.

I found the following blog post written in 2003(?) that is talking about a PubMed module but I couldn't find it in the repository. I contacted the author, but I thought I could already post a first spec stump while I wait for his answer.

In a first use case we imagine the module could be used to auto-generate reference lists for scientist's profile pages:

Pharma-Bio-Med

From 2-5 November I attended Pharma-Bio-Med, a conference & exposition for pharma, bio & medical information professionals that took place in Dubrovnik this year. It was a great experience and in the last weeks I was working on some of the concepts I took away from the conference, I made some quick demo movies and posted them on our new company website:

biotech webdevelopment

Building a website for your biotech company might seem a daunting task, especially the first time you do it. That is why we created this whitepaper, to give you an introduction into some of the basic concepts of webdesign and how they are applied in the biotech industry.
If you are wondering what kind of information you should provide, or how you should present it, what technologies you can use and what the benefits are of a Content Management System (CMS), you should read this paper.
