Alpha 1 Knowledge management for Open Atrium, test it now!

We've blogged before about the Knowledge management feature package that Pronovix developed for Open Atrium. To make it really easy for you to test out the features, we made a tarball that contains an installation profile that by default will enable all the knowledge management goodness:
- Mindmaps a.k.a. Graphmind, a mindmap module for Drupal that allows you to upload mindmaps to your Drupal site and even use data from your site to build mindmaps.
- Semantic editor: makes it possible to mark up snippets in a text using a WYSIWYG editor with RDFa markup.
- Semantic layers/filters: these 2 technologies together allow you to add CSS classes to RDFa marked up text and then change the way these are displayed. This could be used to let users choose the type of information they would be interested in seeing (e.g. advance level, knowledge space, etc.).
- Faceted insert: an asynchronous faceted search interface that lets you search and paste the content of another node into the text field you working on.
- Bookmark trail: a bookmarklet feature for Drupal (javascript snippets that live in your bookmark toolbar) that makes it really simple to submit snippets of text that you encounter on the internet as solutions for a problem you are working on. Since it can be integrated in one's project managment system it can be as simple as click-review-submit.
Currently it's only available as a "ab initio" package of Open Atrium (so you can't install it on an existing site). It's also built on Open Atrium Beta 3. We are really excited about the new features in Beta 4 (especially the testing suite), so updates will come. You can download it here.
Installation is the same as for a standard Drupal 6 or Open Atrium install (we already made a copy of settings file in the default folder). Just select the installation profile "Pronovix Knowledge Management Distribution" during the installation process.
System requirements:
- PHP 5.2
- PHP GD extension
- ~128MB memory limit (apc suggested)
- MySQL 5
- Apache
- Apache mod_rewrite module for clean urls
Remarks:
- If you want faceted insert to also work with bookmark trail solutions you'll have to add that in the faceted search environment ([yoursite]/admin/settings/faceted_search/1).
- If you are installing this on your localhost and you are experiencing problems you can try increasing your php.ini settings for:
- max_execution_time
- realpath_cache_size
- memory_limit
We really need your help to further improve these features. All feedback, bug reports and feature requests are welcome on the drupal.org issue queue.

great stuff guys...
what about integrated the bigbluebutton modul in the system... visuale interaction is a must have for a "knowing in action"...i am glad to see you in münchen...

Hi guys,
any news on the Beta 5 release of the Bookmark Trail?
Thanks!
Jan
I added your mindmaps feature from your feature server to OpenAtrium Alpha 6. When clicking on the Mindmap Icon in a new group, (after enabling the feature and assuring all dependencies were met) all I see is:
"There is currently no content to view in this section.
Add new mindmap with the right button above."
But there is no button to create a mindmap. Only by going in the drupal way with "create content" is the graphmind content type available.. which gives: "Network error: cannot connect to site: http://intranet.bulman.ca/?q=services/amfphp
Details: wrong connection info (url) or missing AMFPHP library or wrong AMFPHP|Services version or wrong Services authentication method (only Session auth needs)
Msg: [FaultEvent fault=[RPC Fault faultString="Send failed" faultCode="Client.Error.MessageSend" faultDetail="Channel.Connect.Failed error NetConnection.Call.BadVersion: : url: 'http://intranet.bulman.ca/?q=services/amfphp'"] messageId="135C2570-7BAE-4A99-4552-1323C1CB1B19" type="fault" bubbles=false cancelable=true eventPhase=2]"
I'd like to say what a pleasure it was/is to have such a smooth professional experience. From the flawless install, through everything I've tried so far ( I LOVE the mind mapping), it's just been incredible.
Not being a programmer, but a fairly experienced drupal 'cook' , I'm often at the mercy of the kind souls who contribute to drupal, and yours is a monstrous contribution as far as I'm concerned.
Matter of fact, I'd like to send you guys a contribution? Maybe a dinner and some wine's worth? Let me know, (paypal?)
Gratefully
Mark
Hi guys,
brilliant stuff guys. I can't believe how easy it is to bookmark stuff with this. We are a small charity and it will make it real easy to drop this into our atrium to keep track of interesting media articles.
One question though. We went ahead and upgraded to beta5. I've tried your feature on a local beta5 install, following these guidelines on how to upgrade from 3 to 4
https://community.openatrium.com/documentation-en/node/1527
Seems to be working, with a couple of bugs. I am having problems with views and spaces, i.e. listing the problems&solutions and the icon displays across all groups.
Do you guys have plans to do a beta5 compatible release. Just wanted to know, if this is in your future plans.
Thanks,
jan
Hi Jan,
Thank you for your feedback!
We've started work on the upgrade of the package, and we'll be posting the updated features to our feature server (it might take some time depending on the problems we encounter during upgrade and the availability of our developers).
We'll also start posting updates on feature and package releases to our Twitter account over at http://twitter.com/pronovix (so far there's not to much on there, but we've just decided to make a point of it).
Hi Mark,
Your comment made a lot of people very happy here in the office.
The easiest way to send a gift to our developers would be through an Amazon gift voucher. We'll use those to buy IT books that we'll share with the developers.
Seems like you've did a thorough job reviewing the project, thank you for that!
WOW!! I for one am grateful that you've included this all in an installation. For some reason, I've had very mixed luck with upgrading/installing O/A.
I'm certainly glad that there are smart people out there, in a hundred lifetimes I would not have been able to do what you've done. Other things perhaps...but nothing like this.
Thanks
Thank you for the great work !
Can't wait to see all those wonderful tools in a stable version of Open Atrium...!
Why the full install, why not just provide these as features?
Hi Travis, we have the individual features over at our feature server. http://fserver.pronovix.net/
It's to make it easier for people to try out our features that we wrapped everything in a package.
Interesting stuff, can't wait to experiment with it.
From the video it already looks very powerful. but your mentioned future plans, the ability to add these features to existing sites, upgrading the base to OpenAtriumB4, and the multiuser MindMap that was recently mentioned in a different post will bring us even closer to world domination :-)
