PRONOVIX

Kristof Van Tomme is one of the two founders of Pronovix. He's got a degree in Bio-engineering and made his first Drupal site in the tech transfer office of Szeged, Hungary. Kristof started an introductory Drupal course at the University of Szeged and was initiator and co-lead for Drupalcon Szeged in 2008. As a permanent member of the Drupal Association Kristof is the lead of the selection task force for European Drupalcons.

So far overviewing and responsible for financial and legal housekeeping. After relocating to and extending family life in Belgium, now busy re-involving in the daily operations of the company.

"My joined history with Kristof starts back in 2003 while studying for masters in chemistry and leads through our involvement in biotech - functional genomics, life sciences patents. We founded (2005) and bootstrapped the company together and here we are with an awesome group working in Drupal and Dita."

Kornel Lugosi got interested in computers at a very early age, and he was also experimenting with programming. Later on, when he installed a Debian sarge on his PC, he fell in love with open-source, and never booted Windows again. It was not a big surprise that Kornel finally went to study computer science at the University of Szeged, Hungary. He soon got focused on Drupal, and since June 2008, he is happily developing PHP and JQuery code as a Drupal developer at Pronovix. He is enthusiastic about innovative solutions, and has already given numerous presentations on Drupal, JQuery and security. Beside Drupal and Linux, he likes to play around with other open-source projects, such as Android, Arduino and C/C++. Kornel successfully participated in the Google Summer of Code project for Drupal in 2009, and the following year he was already acting as a mentor. On the web, Kornel is also known as ‘Coornail’.

Tamas Demeter-Haludka started programming already as a schoolboy, and he also went to study software engineering at the University of Szeged, Hungary. From the old Visual Basic books, his interest switched quickly to PHP and Drupal. Besides, he got interested in programming paradigms and esoteric programming languages, Python and Qt technologies. He is an active contributor to open source projects, he assists beginners on the Hungarian Linux-related forums, and he already submitted numerous bug reports for various projects. He also has a couple of contributed modules on Drupal.org. He joined the Pronovix team in September 2008. In 2010, he successfully completed a Google Summer of Code project for Drupal, called 'Remote Entities'. On the web, he is known as ‘Yorirou’

Peter Arato started his tech life at his late teens, and some years later he received his master’s degree in IT from the University of Szeged, Hungary. At the beginning he was just amazed how easy a small game can be written with Actionscript, so he wrote a lot of them. Then he started to expand his interest towards the web. Peter had worked with PHP for a year when he found something really interesting: Drupal and open source. Actually THEY found him! He was experimenting with a lot of other fields: ruby on rails, objective c, java and graphic design. Now he is engaged in developing modules, writing sites and learning (sometimes also teaching) the tech 24/7. Besides, Peter is enhusiastic about architecture and design patterns, and he likes music (classic and rock), bikes and lifehacks. On the web, he is also known as 'itarato'.

Marta Maczel is heading the Pronovix office in Szeged, Hungary from October 2010. She has a Ph.D. degree in Biological Sciences, and she feels privileged for having had the opportunity to experience the international world of science, gaining considerable experience also in the nonprofit sector and meeting so many different and inspiring people. In search of new challenges, she has got inspired by a group of brilliant people engaged in Drupal, which opened up the open-source world for her, and her amazement at innovations just does not end there. She likes travelling, intermingling with people, and DIY. She is almost as enthusiastic about art as about science. On the web, she is also known as 'mmaczel'.

Akos Horvath got interested in computers in his childhood, and the affection for IT survived into his adulthood. He started using and administering Linux in 2003, and first met Drupal at version 4.5. Besides, he holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Economics, and for a while he was engaged in business management, financial analysis and international logistics. He joined the Pronovix team at the end of 2009, where he keeps widening his knowledge on Drupal and web development. Gergely Kurucz studies software engineering at the University of Szeged, Hungary. He got interested in IT during his secondary school years. In his free time, he was experimenting with 2D/3D content creation suites (primarily with Blender). Later on, his focus widened towards design software, which roots in his interest for blending computer science and art. Since August 2010 he is engaged in writing CSS/PHP, preparing creative design and learning a lot about the “Flemish Drop” at Pronovix.
