Modulecraft: fundraising to make a Drupal DITA documentation distribution

This week we launched modulecraft.com a fundraising tool that we want to use to raise interest, involvement and money for the development of a series of tools for Drupal professionals. Pure donation systems like chip-in have a pretty bad track record, but a donation/reward system has to our knowledge not yet been tried in the Drupal community. When you donate you will be contributing to the community AND getting something valuable in return.

We launched the platform with Documentation+, our first fundraising effort which primary aim is the development of a Documentation distro for Drupal.

Alpha 1 Knowledge management for Open Atrium, test it now!

Video:

We've blogged before about the Knowledge management feature package that Pronovix developed for Open Atrium. To make it really easy for you to test out the features, we made a tarball that contains an installation profile that by default will enable all the knowledge management goodness:

Knowledge managment in Open Atrium: our feature stack

Video:

Ever since Open Atrium went public we've been working on integrating our knowledge management features into it. Yesterday we cleared the final hurdle to get our stack into beta. In this screencast you'll see the following features/modules in action:

Project status mindmaps in Open Atrium using Graphmind

Today Peter activated his brand new Graphmind feature on our intranet/extranet that we built with Open Atrium. The feature adds: a tab to the features menu in group spaces; a view page with the mindmaps in the active group space and a button to create new mindmaps. The feature might be quite basic, but the possibilities are mind-boggling.

Pharma-Bio-Med

From 2-5 November I attended Pharma-Bio-Med, a conference & exposition for pharma, bio & medical information professionals that took place in Dubrovnik this year. It was a great experience and in the last weeks I was working on some of the concepts I took away from the conference, I made some quick demo movies and posted them on our new company website:

Druplet - a knowledge management system for Drupal built in Drupal

Video:

Most people when they encounter a problem during development or use of Drupal do a Google search on the topic and end up, after some sifting and speed-reading, with a couple of text snippets that together form an answer. The purpose of this project is to make it easy to build a record of these snippet trails and to share them with the community.

This videocast is a demo movie and not a tutorial, so it's in the first place meant for end-users rather than for developers. If you want a tutorial tell us in a comment.

The lean product literature database

Video:

In this videocast I explore how a lean product literature database could be implemented in Drupal. The presentation should be relevant for you if you are interested in implementing a knowledge management system for your organization. If you are interested in actually seeing it work, check out our druplet videocast.

This is a demo movie, it's meant to show end-users some of the functionality that is available in Drupal. If you want a tutorial tell us in a comment.
